Telehealth is the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health and health administration. The use of telemedicine is an important component of providing quality healthcare to underserved populations. Many health centers have implemented successful telemedicine initiatives.
Technologies used in telehealth typically are: videoconferencing, the Internet, store-and-forward imaging, streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.
Federal Communications Commission launched Reboot.FCC.gov, the first-ever Web site dedicated to soliciting public input on ways to improve citizen interaction with the FCC. 1/7/2010. The launch also includes the first official FCC blog, which will feature posts from FCC employees and each of the five Commission members.
