Non-profit community-based health centers operate in a constantly changing and increasingly complex environment. To help health center Board members understand the legal, administrative, financial and clinical aspects of governing a health center, NACHC offers a variety of trainings and publications.

Board Member Boot Camp

The NACHC Board Member Boot Camp, offered throughout the year at NACHC conferences, provides new and veteran board members with an overview of four key governance responsibilities:
• Legal Responsibilities and Liability
• Administration/Personnel Policy and Procedure Development
• Financial Responsibilities
• Clinical Aspects of the Health Center

Education Sessions

Special sessions at NACHC conferences provide a more focused look at matters of specific concern to boards. Recent topics have included: Advocacy Overview for Board Members; The Governing Board’s Role in the Audit Process; The Board’s Role in Ensuring a Compliant Health Center Organization; and Executive Oversight of Reimbursement.
