2010 Policy & Issues Forum
Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, DC
February 24-28, 2010
The past year has been enormously impactful for health centers, but 2010 could mark the threshold of a new era for health care in America. February, 2010 will mark the half-way point for funding received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), and the over $2 billion in resources that it directed to health centers. Moreover, as health reform moves closer to full realization, health centers are poised to play a central role in the post-reform landscape. Now more visible than ever, as the recipients of economic stimulus dollars and providers of choice for 20 million Americans, health centers are recognized both for the critical role they play in caring for the growing numbers of jobless and uninsured, and as model primary health care homes in their communities. As the Wall Street Journal recently noted, health centers are seeing “a surge of patients as more Americans struggle financially,” and further investment in them could save the health care system billions.
How will the stimulus dollars and the visibility this funding has brought affect health centers? What dramatic changes will health reform bring, and what will be its immediate and long-term effect? The first and best place to get answers to these questions and insights into what will come next for health centers in Washington and across the nation will be at the NACHC Policy & Issues Forum. Plan to join us in February, 2010 to understand what happened, what’s coming, and what health centers still need to do to reach their goal of ensuring access to health care for everyone in America.
Join thousands of Health Center advocates to carry the health center message to Capitol Hill.
