East Jordan Family Health Center

Northern Mich.

The East Jordan Family Health Center [is receiving] $600,000 in...stimulus funding.... Dan McKinnon, the health center’s executive director, said uses for the incoming money [were] already identified by the center’s staff and board of directors as part of an earlier application process for each of its three locations in East Jordan, Bellaire and Central Lake. Some of the funds will be used to purchase a computer for every exam room, as the health center begins the shift toward electronic medical records, new powered tables for exam rooms to assist people with limited mobility and back-up power generators to ensure immunizations are kept refrigerated in case of a power outage. -- Petosky News-Review, July 7, 2009
